Severe weather planning

The police, fire service, local authorities and other emergency services and health organisations work together to prepare and manage emergency situations that present themselves in Cambridgeshire, for the safety or our communities.

The type of emergency situations could be;

  • flooding
  • severe weather
  • prolonged power cut/outage
  • heatwave or cold snap
  • chemical leak

Where a major emergency affects large areas, the emergency services will help the most vulnerable people first. Being prepared and knowing what to do in an emergency reduces the impact it has on you, your family, the community and aids the recovery process.

A cohesive approach across our multi-agency partnership works to prepare, manage and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Visit the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service website for advice and information about preparing yourself for emergencies.
